Q: What is an indirect-fired water heater?
A: Indirect-fired water heaters use the boiler water from your boiler to heat the water through a highly efficient heat exchanger contained inside an insulated storage tank. The heater functions as a separate heating zone resulting in more hot water with reduced boiler temperatures and lower stand by loss.

Q: What kinds of water heaters save money and prevent running out of hot water?
A: If you have an electric water heater, switching to an oil-fired or propane-fired model will save you a lot of money over time. Heating water with oil or propane costs significantly less than using electricity.
Also, oil and propane water heaters provide a virtually unlimited supply of hot water so you may never be stuck with a cold shower again!

Q: What can I do to maintain my water heater?
A: You'll get longer life from your water heater and prevent breakdowns if you follow these guidelines:
• Every three months, drain a gallon of water from the tank; if you have hard water, do it monthly. You will reduce the amount of sediment collecting in the tank bottom, which can make the burner or heating coils work harder.
• Once a year have your water heater inspected by a service technician to help keep it in peak operating condition.
