Price Protection
Bottini Fuel gives you choices for protecting the price you pay for heating fuel and controlling your winter fuels bills. That’s especially important with prices so volatile. We do this through our EZ Pay program, which gives you three options.
1. EZ Pay. We will spread your annual fuel costs over 11 months and bill you monthly. We will charge you the daily market rate for your fuel. Your price will be the prevailing rate on the day of delivery.
2. EZ Pay with Price Cap. We will spread your annual fuel costs over 11 months and bill you monthly. We will charge you either the predetermined price cap or our current retail price, whichever is lower on the day of delivery.
An enrollment fee will be charged for this upside and downside price protection. We need to charge a fee because our suppliers charge us a hefty premium for the purchasing flexibility that allows us to lower your price when market prices fall. In simple terms, we “trade back” the fuel we contracted for at a higher price and exchange it for lower priced fuel. This allows us to drop your price.
3. EZ Pay with Guaranteed Price. We will spread your annual fuel costs over 11 months and bill you monthly. We will charge you the predetermined fixed price, which will not go up or down during the contract period, regardless of what happens with retail prices.
There is no enrollment fee for this “upside” price protection. Because we have already contracted your fuel at this one guaranteed fixed price, we cannot lower it if market prices drop. But this purchasing strategy also means your price will not go up if market prices skyrocket.
If you have a Service Plan, you can roll the cost into your monthly EZ Pay payments.
EZ Pay customers with price protection get the extra benefit of automatic deliveries.
Pay As You Go. Although customers have saved a lot of money by choosing a cap price or a guaranteed price, you are not obligated to join these programs. Instead, we will simply charge you our daily rate, which rises and falls with the market throughout the heating season.
