At Bottini Fuel we’re experts in all things heating and cooling. Now that summer is in full swing, if you’re looking to purchase, upgrade, repair, or maintain your cooling system, we can help.
We’ve asked one of our experts (service manager Vince Eagan III) to answer some frequently asked questions about ductless mini-splits—a great option for cooling most homes.
Question: Are ductless mini-split systems an energy-efficient way to cool my home?
Answer: Yes, they are. The Mitsubishi Electric ductless heat pump systems we install use smart inverter technologies that enable mini-splits to reach efficiency levels greater than 30 SEER. That’s a much higher efficiency level than a traditional central air conditioning system. Because of this, using a mini-split cooling system could actually save you about 30% on your electric costs.
Question: When should I consider a multi-zone system over a single-zone system?
Answer: If you already use central air, but there has been either a new addition to your home or you have a room, a garage, or some other living space you want to cool down, adding a single-zone mini-split system is typically the right solution. People who don’t have central air, like customers who have hot water heating systems (boilers), usually opt for a multi-zone installation. In this type of configuration, one outdoor condenser unit will run the refrigerant to the various indoor units we install in each room. This cools the air being blown through them.
Question: What’s the benefit of choosing Bottini?
Answer: As a Mitsubishi Diamond Preferred Contractor, we have the highest level of manufacturer certification and can offer you a unique 12-year manufacturer warranty. We also offer great financing options.
