If you have recently purchased a home in the Hudson Valley that is powered by propane, but haven’t gotten around scheduling your first propane delivery, you may be in for a surprise when you try to order your fuel.
That’s because it’s possible that a propane company, and not you, owns the tank.
If the previous owners of your home leased rather than owned the propane tank on your property, that lease carries over to you – and because of that, no company other than that supplier can fill it (this is standard practice in the industry).
Of course, if the previous owners did own the tank, there’s a good chance ownership was transferred to you in the sale of the house. Be sure to check your legal paperwork!
If you still can’t confirm who owns the tank, look for clues on the tank itself: most leased tanks have a logo somewhere on them. If you find one, contact the company and ask to confirm the lease. It is possible the company owned the tank at one point but sold it to the customer. If all else fails, try asking your realtor, whom might be able to help you track down the ownership information.
Once you have confirmed that you own the propane tank on your property, or that Bottini is the lessor of your tank, we will be happy to schedule your first propane delivery with us; as always, you’ll get a FREE pressure and leak test with your first delivery– followed by many years of reliable propane deliveries in the Hudson Valley.
