Propane Tanks and Monitoring

Bottini Fuel handles all of your Hudson Valley home’s propane tank needs

Do you find yourself in the market for a propane tank? You’ve come to the right place!

Bottini Fuel is your one-stop shop for everything related to your home’s propane tank. We serve both sides of the Hudson River, including Ulster, Dutchess, Putnam and Orange Counties.

We install and service propane tanks in a full range of sizes and offer leasing options along with wireless propane tank monitoring. And when it comes to dependable propane delivery, we’re the best in the Hudson Valley!

To start you off, we thoroughly go over how you use propane in your home to determine what size of tank you’ll need.

We also give you a choice: You can either buy your tank or lease it. Both options have advantages, so you can determine which one is right for you.

Buying your propane tank gives you the freedom to choose your propane delivery service. However, you do have large up-front costs — the purchase and installation of the tank — along with the responsibility for all maintenance and repair costs.

Leasing is easy and hassle-free! We handle the installation, along with all maintenance and repairs.

Whichever you choose, we’ll do the installation properly and will meet all standards, codes and regulations for safety.

Bottini Fuel does both aboveground and underground installation. Which one you opt for is a personal choice, and we’ll help you make it. Underground propane tank installation allows the tank to be hidden and frees up physical and visual space in your yard. Aboveground propane tank installation is more cost-effective and eliminates the need for your yard to be dug up.

What size propane tank do I need?

Propane tanks are not one-size-fits-all. That’s why Bottini Fuel carries a full range of propane tank sizes.

We make sure that you’ll get the right size tank for your home’s propane needs — because each home is unique. You and a friend may have similar-sized houses, but that does not determine what size of propane tank you need. We consider other factors, like how many propane appliances you use.

Here are the tank sizes we carry and their uses, to give you a better idea of the size of tank your Hudson Valley home will require.

60-gallon tank: Also known as a 200-lb. tank, this vertical tank measures 43 inches tall and 24 inches in diameter. It holds 48 gallons of propane at a standard fill and is used for homes with one appliance, such as a range or a clothes dryer. This smaller tank is installed aboveground.

120-gallon tank: This tank comes in both horizontal and vertical models and is also known as a 420-lb. tank. The vertical tank is 54½ inches tall and 30 inches in diameter. The horizontal tank is 68 inches long and 24 inches in diameter. This size tank can be installed aboveground or underground. It holds 100 gallons at a standard fill. It is for homes that use propane for water heating, a propane fireplace or space heating.

250-gallon tank: This horizontal tank measures 7 feet 8 inches long and 30 inches in diameter and can be installed aboveground or underground. The tank holds 200 gallons of propane with a standard fill. It can be used for a couple of propane appliances, such as a water heater, a clothes dryer, a range, a space heater or a fireplace.

500-gallon tank: Measuring 10 feet long and 37½ inches in diameter, this is a horizontal tank that can installed aboveground or underground. It holds 400 gallons with a standard fill. This size is needed for whole-house heating, along with other propane appliances. It is also the common size for propane whole-house standby generators.

1,000-gallon tank: This horizontal tank, measuring 16½ feet long and 41 inches in diameter, can be installed either underground or aboveground and holds 800 gallons with a standard fill. It is most commonly used in commercial applications, but it is also appropriate for very large homes that use propane for heating, cooking, fireplaces and water heating along with high-Btu appliances like pool and spa heaters.

Wireless propane tank monitoring reassures you about your propane supply

Life can get pretty busy, and sometimes tasks fall through the cracks. If one of those forgotten tasks is checking your propane tank gauge regularly, you could end up in a pickle when your propane supply runs low — or, worse, runs out.

Avoid that worry and hassle with Bottini Fuel’s Gremlin cellular wireless propane tank monitor. It tracks your propane supply, and using our app, you get to see exactly how much propane you have at any time. More important, the monitor allows us to keep tabs on your propane supply. When the tank gauge reaches a predetermined level, we get a notification and quickly schedule a delivery. No work, no worries for you!
