Now that summer is here, you should do the following things to care for your propane tank and ensure that it will run safely all summer long.

1. Clean up. Just as you need to clear snow away in the winter, make sure to clean up around your propane tank during the summer so that our delivery crews can easily access it. That may mean trimming branches or bushes and clearing away nests. Clear away anything that could block the tank or the path to the fill valve.
2. Look for rust. If you notice any rust spots on your tank, make sure to have them addressed immediately. Otherwise, you could end up with a leak. 3. Fill up. It might seem counterintuitive since it isn’t peak heating season, but you should still keep an eye on your propane tank level and request a delivery before your tank is less than ¼ full.
