Warming the Homefront: never forget our Veterans

Have you seen our Veterans’ Warming the Homefront Truck at recent community events? We always try to give it a high profile to raise awareness about how we can all pitch in to make sure our military veterans (and their families) are never forgotten for their sacrifice.

Here’s how this program works. We deliver 100 gallons of free oil or propane to veterans who are facing financial struggles. To find eligible candidates, Bottini partners with three Hudson Valley veterans’ groups: Hudson Valley Veterans Alliance, VetZero and Vet2Vet. Recipients do not need to be customers of Bottini Fuel to receive a delivery.

Now in its fifth year, our Warming the Homefront program so far has delivered more than 9,000 gallons of oil and propane to more than 90 veterans’ families. Learn about how you can support this program.

Here are some of the veterans or military families we’ve delivered fuel to in the last few months:

We had the great honor to deliver 100 gallons of free heating oil to Carl L. of Hyde Park. He is a 90-year young Korean War Veteran. He is pictured here with Anthony and Beth-Ann from our partner, Vet2Vet.

We delivered 100 free gallons of heating oil to Charles W., an Army Veteran who lives in Poughkeepsie. He and our driver, Jim, also a Veteran, became fast friends!
