Help Hudson Valley military veterans and their families stay warm

Bottini Fuel launched Warming the Homefront in 2018 to help military families in need. This program aims to provide free oil or propane to veterans and families of currently deployed personnel who have hit a rough patch and need assistance. So far, we’ve delivered more than 9,000 gallons of oil and propane to more than 90 veterans’ families. Our goal is to ultimately help more than 200 local vets.

How Warming the Homefront works

Bottini Fuel delivers 100 gallons of free oil or propane to veterans who are facing financial struggles. The company partners with three Hudson Valley veteran groups to screen and refer candidates – Hudson Valley Veterans Alliance, VetZero and Vet2Vet. Recipients do not need to be customers of Bottini Fuel.

“Our veterans and their families have sacrificed so much to protect our country,” said Rick Bottini. “We have family who have served, along with many of our employees. This is our way of thanking our vets who have fallen on hard times.”

Dutchess County Veterans Services Director Adam Roche adds, “This is a wonderful partnership that is making a difference in the lives of so many local veterans and their families.”

All donations are tax-deductible

Bottini initially allocated enough free fuel for 50 deliveries. In honor of our 70th anniversary, we decided to up that to 120 families. The organizations also take contributions earmarked for the program, to supplement the free fuel we are providing. Bottini Fuel delivers the supplemental fuel at our wholesale cost, with no additional charges. That makes the donations go twice as far.
